Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication

Course Details - Intakes (January / April / July / October)

The primary aim of the Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication programme is to equip students with all the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge related to mass communication at an advanced level.

  • Polytechnic Diploma

  • Private Diploma/Advanced Diploma (subject to approval)

  • Diploma in Business Management awarded by City Metropolitan College or by other qualified institutions

  • Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be assessed on a case- by-case basis

  • To equip all graduating students with all the vital knowledge and skills so as to ensure that each and every student is effectively well versed to advance their career in mass communication.

  • To develop students' intellectual capabilities of interpretation and analysis; critical evaluation; selection and synthesis; reasoned argument; research and problem solving skills related to mass communication at an advanced level.

  • To enable students to hone certain vital skills that are essential in the field of mass communication such as communication skills, problem-solving skills, team work and personal responsibility.

Face-to-face Classroom Teaching

Each module is assessed by academic work comprising presentations, written assignments, tests, case study reports, essays or examination as determined by the subject profile. Assessment methods may vary according to individual unit requirements.

  • Full -time: 9 months [36 weeks -408 hours]

  • Part-time:12 months [52 weeks - 408 hours]
